I’ve always had a soft spot for French DJ/producer Laurent Garnier. During my time as a music journalist, I had the pleasure to meet and interview hundreds of artists, but few were ever quite as passionate and forthright as the one-time F Communications record label boss. For Garnier, music is life. For those of us who spend far too much time (and money) feeding our music habit, Garnier is an inspiration.

As you can imagine, I was delighted to be asked by Resident Advisor to interview Laurent again ahead of the release of his latest album, ‘Tales Of A Kleptomaniac’. Meeting him again – for, I think, the third time – was just as fascinating and rewarding as our previous interviews. He was as thoughtful and enthusiastic as ever.
